In the new version of Power BI Desktop, when I create a matrix table, I can add multiple columns in the Rows section. For example, I have Column B placed under Column A. In the Format pane, under "Layout and Style Presets," I can change the layout to options like compact, outline, or tabular. When I select the tabular or outline option, Column B is displayed as a separate column next to Column A.
However, by default, the entries in the first column (Column A) remain collapsed, and I have to manually click the "+" signs next to each row to expand the data in the second column (Column B).
Is there a way to change the settings so that the rows remain expanded by default when new data is added, instead of staying collapsed? Currently, it requires manual expansion, and I’m looking for a solution to keep them expanded automatically.

I did some test, but unfortunately that I can't reproduce your issue.

@audreygerred @Anonymous thanks for thr suggestions. There are 2 catches to this way:
If the dashbaord in service is reset back , the rows will be again minimize and collapse to only show first column,
When new data comes, it is shown as collapsed by default.
For sharing purposes, i have to download the dashboard as pdfs , so right now i have to check dashboard evrytime new data comes before downloading . Any workaround to make new data is shown in expanded format by default

Hmmm. That is strange. I have never had it collapse once expanded unless I manually do it.

As far as I know, Power BI doesn't support this feature currently.
Just as audreygerred post that you can click the button to expand the current level.
Or you can right-click the row area and select the All in the Expand:
You can vote for similar ideas or create a new idea here to help us improve power bi and make this feature coming sooner.

Hi! You will have to manually expand, but you do not need to use the +/- signs. Once you have all of your rows/columns in and you want to expand it, hover on the chart and you will see these four icons appear:
Click the fourth one (the one that looks like a hierarchy) to expand it out as many times as you need. If you save teh report with it expanded, that is how it will appear for your users in service.
