Hi All,
New to the group. I'm looking for help on how I can recreate a table I have in excel in Power BI. I've tried both the Matrix and Table visuals in Power BI, but I cant figure out how to format it to mee my needs. What I'm looking to do is have a list of clients (rows) with specific metrics (columns) and be able to view them month over month.
Here's an example of what I'm looking for:
| Jan-24 | Feb-24 | |||||
| Client | SLA% | ABN% | Yield % | SLA% | ABN% | Yield % |
| Albuquerque, NM | 100% | 0% | 56% | 100% | 42% | 67% |
| Denver, CO | 30% | 41% | 64% | 25% | 52% | 70% |
Does anyone know how this can be done?
The closest I've come, looks like this, by using the 'table' visual to get my list of clients and the metrics.....
| Client | SLA% | ABN% | Yield % |
| Albuquerque, NM | 100% | 0% | 56% |
| Denver, CO | 30% | 41% | 64% |
........But I still need the ability to add/group more months of data like the chart at the top.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Cheque
Hi @Cheque
Please try to use the 'matrix' visual.
Here I create a set of sample:
Then add a matrix visual:

When you come from Excel you are used to wide tables with many columns. Power BI is different, it works best with narrow, long tables. There is a process step called "Unpivot" that will help you to transform the Excel data into usable format.
