Map Visual

Hi,

I'm struggling to create  a map visual for my report

I want the map to show Streets/Avenues in NY, Manhattan - for the number of Traffic reports for trucks.

I've tried to do this in many ways - with slicer or matrix but it didn't work out.

No matter what i do it shows Streets/Avenues outside Manhattan.

Any suggestions?

Help will be much appriciated!

I think you need to 1) create a new location column which stores your locations in a rigth format (how to is in this article, below section "Create a separate Location column in your data").

2) Add location to your map: step step is to show the circles on the map

Then drag your newly created column to the "Location" box on your chart (based on your screenshot you have 2 fields right now in this, you replace those two to the new one).

3) Add legend - this step will do the coloring on your chart

I guess that your STREET/AVEN column cotains only binary values (e.g: street or avenue).

You need to drag&drop this column to the Legend attribute of the map.

If it's not the case than you ned to create a column with such breakdown and use that.

Hi @SHAKEDALROY ,

just to make things a bit more clear. Do you want to draw a circle on the middle of the street? Or what is the output you are looking for?

Alo I can see from your screenshot that you have 1 column added to the latitude on the map but not on the longitude - I don't think this should work.

At a first glance, you'd need more precise naming (eg.: country, city, street name, street number; OR postcode/zipcode) or usually it's better to have the lat-long coorinates of the point you'd like to display.

Hi @P_D_G !

Thank you for your respond.

I have statescode field (filtered NY), Bourgoh Names field (In NY)- filtered Manhatten, street names field, street/avenue field, truck/other field and Total reports field.. I don't know which field to put where (Location, Legend etc..)

I see. What is your desired output, could you please describe it?

Is it something like showing circles on the map in a different size/color?

I want the output to show circles in different colors (2 colors) 1. color when you see streets in Manhattan,NY of where trucks got traffic reports, and the second circle color is the same but for the avenues not the streets.

I don't need them to be in different sizes.
