We have just updated to the latest version of powerbi desktop 2.35.4399.38.
However this version doesn't allow or doesn't recognise mdx scripts as an import. All our pbix files are in the main using a connection to ssas databases with a pre-defined mdx script. These all worked fine but now if you try to edit an existing one it removes all the columns.
If you try to create a new data source and paste in the mdx it simply moves to the next page as if you haven't supplied a script and then you pick measures and dimensions? Anyone else experiencing this?
I have found the previous msi for power bi desktop so to test my sanity I have re-installed the previous version. When I go to edit an mdx query it edits it fine. Re-installed the new version and it collapses into an unsightly pile.... See screenshots below. Old version spins a for a bit then takes you back to your dataset. New version spins and returns nothing. Totally useless to us.
It no longer accepts mdx queries, I suppose I could edit the query in advanced editor to make it work which really is not want I want to do.
I think I am going to switch to the old version, this version is pants. Hopefully I can restore the old versions of the pbix files I saved in the new verision from our source control as once saved in the new version there is no going back!

I reproduced same issue as yours in May Update Power BI Desktop. We have reported it internally.
