Can i load excel file from sharepoint if it is not in any folder like below?
Solved! Go to Solution.
You can add by using web option in power bi get data and from sharepoint click on the right most 3 dot and copy the path and paste direclt into web.
@ktt777 ,
I tried the first option for both one drive and SharePoint excel worked for me. You can refer one of the two
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-use-onedrive-business-links
yes you can. open the file with the desktop app (eclipse and open with desktop app) once open in excel go to Info and copy the path to the clipboard. in the datasource within power bi select excel as source and paste the location which you copied to the clipboard as the path https://drherjeilrtjew.xlsx?web=1. remove the ?web=1 part. i am assuming the site is already to IE to allow Power Bi to access SharePoint.
Thanks.
I tried that but there is below error when i load the file :
Details: "Microsoft.Mashup.Engine1.Library.Resources.HttpResource: Request failed:
OData Version: 3 and 4, Error: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. (Not Found)
OData Version: 4, Error: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. (Not Found)
OData Version: 3, Error: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. (Not Found)"
Do you have any idea why ?
please make sure you select excel as the source and not SharePoint online. the error you get look slike you trying to get data from a SharePoint online list.
Hi

Thanks.
