Hi,
Can anyone pleasew help with how to link 2 queries in one powerbi report?
Background - I have imported 2 queries one for sales and another for stocks and both have few columns that has same fields for example, region, branch, product code, YYYYMM etc
Each query has hundreds and thousands of rows because data is at granular level.
What I am trying to achieve is create a chart/graph if I bring in region and then bring sales from one query and stocks from another query and still be able to see correct numbers for both of those values by region but then I also want to bring in more fields such as branch and product code and still be able to see values of sales and stocks as per filters applied.
I have tried to search and I have been coming across creating relationsips, however I have noticed that powerbi is not letting me create more than 1 active relationship which is limiting me to achieve what I am trying to achieve.
As you can see from the attached screenshot, the quantity billed shows correct volumes by region but when I bring in monthly stock, it shows incorrect volumes.
Can someone please provide a solution workaround to this?
PS: I am very new to PowerBI and hence while searching through forums, I am unable to find a post asking similar question, maybe because of the different terminology used by different users.
Thanks!

Hi, @ZS26
You need to create slave tables for these common fields, and then establish relationships with the master table one by one.

Hi @ZS26 ,
In terms of active relationship , if you want to use multiple relationship in between fact tbale and other dimension tables or summarized table , you can try following steps :
1. Create a dimension table as refrence from fact table , if you want to use selected columns from separate table .
2. this might be helpful point for you , Use USERELATIOSHIP function in the calculation as filter part , it will help you out w.r.t selected calculation you want from fact table , for instant it will activate that particular mentioned relationship and deactivate the default one to get you expected result .
I hope these steps might be helpful for you .
I know its too late reply of query 😄
