Hello Community,
Is there a way to allow end users to only see the underlying data that supports a particular data visualization? I'd like to limit the amount of detail provided to consumers of the dashboard to a subset of information.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,@irnm8dn .
I'm sorry that the previous suggestions didn't meet your expectations, here are some of my other suggestions that I hope will help you:
1. You can consider making the report and dashboard into apps, and restrict different users from accessing and going to the exported data by setting different audience groups for the apps.
2. Set Export data in settings option in power BI desktop.
like this:
I hope my suggestions give you good ideas, if you have any more questions, please clarify in a follow-up reply.
Best Regards,
Carson Jian,

Thank you, though I think I am looking for a different solution. Specifically, when an end user exports underlying data - I am looking to only allow them to see a subset of columns - not the ENTIRE dataset.
Thank you.

Hi,@irnm8dn I am glad to help you.
Hello,@PijushRoy ,thanks for your concern about this issue.
Your answer is excellent!
And I would like to share some additional solutions below
You could try setting up RLS in the report, which sets data access restrictions directly on the dataset used by the report. By implementing RLS, you can ensure that users only see data that is relevant to them, even if they export the underlying data. This doesn't limit the export functionality itself, but rather controls what data is visible to the user.
If you think RLS is a good reference solution, you can refer to the documentation below:
