Hello Power BI community,
I'm encountering an issue when attempting to create a reference to an existing table, table1, in Power BI. In the process of creating the reference, I noticed that while the original columns are successfully included in the new table, the calculated columns are not visible.
Scenario: I have a table named table1 with columns that are derived from calculations (calculated columns).
Issue: When I right-click on table1 and choose "Reference," the resulting new table only includes the original (uncalculated) columns. The calculated columns are missing.
Expectation: I would like the new referenced table to include both the original and calculated columns from table1.

Calculated columns in Dax are not visible in Power query. If you imagine a process of report creation in layers, then you have:
1. Your source database
2. Power query (M code)
3. Desktop (Dax language).
you can see the data processed only in the previous layers. In your database you dont see added columns in Desktop or Power Query as well as in PQ you dont see added columns by DAX language (unless you use a processed semantic model as adata source). But now we are talking about regular import of data.
Kudos and Mark as reply appreciated.
I assume you are talking about reference in Power Query, not Desktop Power BI. It works fine.
i added the colum in table view mode not power query, will it affect this process ? by affecting i mean the column wont be visible in power query
