Is this type of interaction possible?

Hello,

I am loading daily financial data into Power BI and displaying it on a dashboard that has some visualizations that are filtered on the current day, and some historical charts that are not filtered at all.

In this specific scenario I have a pie chart that is filtered to display only the current day's financial data broken out by product type (legend). When I click a slice of that pie it will filter the entire dashboard's data set to only display rows from the current day that are in that product type (that was clicked on). When that happens, my historical line charts only display one dot. Is there any way for me to set it up so that when I click on that pie chart the data set only gets filtered on product type and not on the current day? This would be a game changer for my dashboards.

Thank you!

Yes, and No...

I would recommend using the below 'Edit Interactions' feature to stop your pie chart from interacting with your historical data.  Then you can add a 'Product Type' slicer somewhere that interacts as you choose to each visual.  This is an extra box, but it will give you the look you are trying to achive.

Since this video was released the 'Edit Interactions' button has been moved to the 'Format' Tab when you have a Visual Selected...

I thought that there may have been another way. But this should do for now. Thank you.
