Hi,
I want to know is there any data limitaion with Power BI Dataflow Gen1? if yes, what is the limitaion.
I was trying to load the large table data from Redshift db and it is showing memory issue. Is there any alternate to consume the large tables in power bi dataflows.
Thanks,
Srini

You cannot... dataflow doesn't support it 😞
A dataflow is always using import.
To use directquery you select your database (Home --> Get data --> More --> Redshift)
And when you use confirm you can choose for directquery.
Hope it helps!

Hi,
Gen1 has indeed some memory and resource limitations.
The large dataset is probably completely loaded at once into the power query and because of the limitations you could receive errors.
What you could do (really depending on your situation) is use a gen2 dataflow, these are way and way faster.
Or use a DirectQuery or Import to avoid such problems.
Hope it helps!
Hi Alex,
How can we choose import or direct mode for data flow? Usually it will not popup the option when you use data flow.
Thanks
