I want to display lines in Power BI and make their thickness proportional to a value in a data table.
With "Shape Map" Visualization I loaded my lines (TopoJSON file opened with "custom map") but my first bug is that the display is not realy lines (see picture). In mapshaper, my TopoJSON is OK (only lines).
Second bug, in the map setting, I have only "Color saturation" in Build visual + "Fill Color" in the Format visual (as if my shapes were polygons ?)
I would like to :
1) get a line thickness menu for my lines
2) make the thickness of my lines proportional to a value
How to do that ?
Happy new year ! I wish a way to build a map visual with lines in Power BI for 2025 😀

There are 3 types of geographic data : points, lines & polygon, I guess that Power BI is able to deal with the 3 of them... (I know it can deal at least with point and polygons, why not lines ? networks wouldn't deserve to be be displayed on Power BI maps ? 😉 )
it's called "Shape"map, not "Line"map. You would have to use tubular shapes as substitutes for lines. Or use a different map visual.
ESRI, world leader in GIS since the beginning, created SHP files (called Shapefiles) decades ago.
A SHP file can contain 3 types of objects : only points or only lines or only polygons
Do we have to tell them that lines are not shapes ?
Other map visual => which one ?
Tubular shapes, I thougth about it, but do you have a way to set their outline thickness with the values of a field ?
