Hi @powerbiexpert22

I dont think it is possible to view BC reports inside Power BI. I worked on a project that used BC and we had to re-create the reports in Power BI by using the BC Connector. Alternatively, there are built-in BC Power BI apps you can try.

Hi @burakkaragoz ,

the requirement is we have some Microsoft Dynamic 365 - Business Central reports which we want to view on  Power BI . how to acheive this?

If you're trying to view existing reports from Dynamics 365 Business Central in Power BI, here are a few ways to do it:

  1. Use the built-in Power BI connector:

    • In Power BI Desktop, go to Get Data > Online Services > Dynamics 365 Business Central.
    • Sign in with your credentials and select the environment and company.
    • You’ll see a list of available tables and reports you can load directly.
  2. Publish Business Central reports to Power BI:

    • In Business Central, go to the report or page you want.
    • Use the "Open in Excel" or "Analyze in Excel" feature, or export the data and build a Power BI report on top of it.

  3. Use APIs or OData feeds:

    • Business Central exposes data via OData endpoints.
    • You can connect to them using Get Data > OData Feed in Power BI.

Let me know if you're trying to embed existing RDLC reports or if you're working with custom extensions – the approach might change slightly.

Hi @burakkaragoz ,

is there any documenation available for second approach you mentioned , I am not clear on how to do it?

Hi @powerbiexpert22 ,
Thanks for the helpful input, @burakkaragoz  !

here are the official Microsoft docs that explain it in more detail:

To analyze report data in Excel and bring it into Power BI: Analyzing Report Data with Excel and XML
To connect Power BI directly to Business Central: Enabling Power BI Integration with Business Central

Hi @powerbiexpert22 ,

To integrate Dynamics 365 F&O with Microsoft Fabric, here’s what worked for others:

  1. Enable SQL row version tracking on the source tables.
  2. Create indexes on the AX DB tables.
  3. Rebuild the solution in Visual Studio (this can take a few hours).
  4. Use Link to Fabric from Dataverse and select the required tables.

Keep in mind:

  • Virtual tables from Dataverse won’t sync directly – you may need to convert them to physical tables.
  • Make sure your Dataverse environment and Fabric workspace are in the same region.
  • Only one D365 environment can be linked to a single Lakehouse.
