Import data from Power BI with an external REST API

Hi,

We want to automate our ETL-process within our business. Power BI is excellent in the Extract and Transform part of this process, but now we want to know if it is possible to Load the data from Power BI in an external application. A little research shows that using an REST API is the best way, but we can't find any answers on how to connect an API to extract data from Power BI. Is it possible and if not, what is an alternative (preferably within Microsoft)?

Thanks in advance

Hi @Optimum011,

You can extract data from a Power BI dataset using the following API: Execute Queries
If you are using Power BI Premium dedicated capacity or PPU licenses, a more powerful option will be to use .NET to extract the data using: AMO-TOM Assemblies
