Image Viewer visual not working?

Any body having issues with the Image Viewer custom visual? My images are not showing on all apps. Is it a hosting issue?

I just tested the Image Viewer example (which you can download from the custom visuals gallery) and even that is not being able to render any images...??

I have the same problem. If I paste the URL directly into my browser then the image is displayed, but nothing is shown in Power BI. Also the sample doesn't work - the sample image URLs don't even exist!

I was having the same trouble and then I then gave an embed link a try, rather than the web URL. An easy way to see the difference is the end of the URL as .jpg or .png. I sourced my images from a online image store SmugMug, which gave me the embed URL. Hope this helps!

Hi @gyuson,

I make a test using Image Viewer custom visual in the latest version of Power BI Desktop (2.39.4526.362), everything works well, you can review the screenshots in my scenario.

Based on your description, you images are not showing in Image Viewer, right? If so, please check that if your images meet the following requirments, for more details, please review this blog. If not, please describe more details about that which apps your images are not showing on.

   • The image must be in .jpg, jpeg, or .png format.
   • The image must be available in an public location. URLs that do not require authentication are supported only. URLs to local files are not supported.
   • If you provide Image Viewer with multiple images, Image Viewer will show the first one it receives.

Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
