Image URL In Access

Hello

I am trying to set an image URL field in Access (I have configured the field to image URL), then have it display in Power BI. I have also set the column to image URL in power BI.

In all picture visuals, chiclet slicer, card etc. the image is not displaying. The images are on imgur.com. I am willing to move to OneDrive if that will help solve the issue.

Relatively new to Power BI, so any help would be appreciated.

Also note that when I was using Excel as the DB for my report, this all worked just fine. Want to move to Access fro various reasons.

many thanks

Ian

@Egon sorry I have no idea, I'm sure you have multiple steps in PQ (on the right-hand side), go to each step one by one and see on which step you have # added to the value. It is very hard to tell without looking at things, so I'm shooting in the dark here 🙂

No worries thanks for the help. Ill keep at it and maybe, if i fix it, ill repost...again just weird that exact same visuals from exact same data in Excel works.

thanks again

@Egon Power BI will not add anything by itself, you have to check in PQ and in preview when you connect to the source if you are getting correct value or not.

Thanks. In PQ the # are there. Forgive my ignorance as im new to this platform, but what would that mean, having "#" when the website URL, access DB do not have them?

Thoughts on where this is going wrong? Clearly between Acess and PBI,

It also does this for two other, non image URL's

thanks

@Egon are those images available publically? Like the URL you are using what happens if you use it directly without login?

I need to log onto the site to post my pictures, but this wasnt an issue when I had the URL's in Excel and my PBI report was based on the Excel table.

Perhaps Access has different requirements? Not sure why PBI could get the links from Excel and render the URL pictures fine, but Access cannot.

@parry2k

I noticed that in the table view for one report using Access which doesnt work, the entries in the picture column in the table view in PBI have "#" at beginning and end of the URL string. I did not add that. That is not in the fileds in Access databse itself.

Whjy would it add "#" at start and end of URL string in PBI when it isnt there in the actual Access DB??
