I am getting this Error Microsoft.Mashup.Host.Document.Serialized Exception with PowerBI ODBC Data

Hi Power BI Community,

We are getting below errors when trying to push data through the ODBC connection.
We are pushing the data as vector by using SQLFetch
We have also tried with the latest version of powerbi

Any idea to tackle this would be helpful.

Hi, @Gugan

The Microsoft.Mashup.Host.Document.SerializedException error you encounter is usually related to how the data source or Power BI interacts with the data source.
First, make sure you're using the latest version of the ODBC driver for the data source. Confirm that the account used for the ODBC connection has the necessary permissions to access the data source.
In Power BI Desktop and the Power BI service, set the privacy level of the data source to Private. This may resolve issues related to data source privacy settings. Maybe you can refer to the following link:

Or, as Ibendlin said, use simple data types. Also try to simplify your query to see if it's a specific part of the query that's causing the problem. You can do this by breaking down the query into smaller pieces and testing them one by one.

We are pushing the data as vector by using SQLFetch

Power Query has no idea what a vector is or how to handle that.  Use simpler data types.
