How to update column type without refreshing the whole table?

I have a fact table which contains alot of rows (over 100M rows using import). I used power query to transform a Date field to Date/Time in order to use incremental refresh.  I have decided to make the transformation  upstream at the source. My question:

how to update the current field (Date) to a Date/Time  after the change is made without refreshing the whole fact table to update the data scheme.

Any tips?

Hello @biuser98

Your manipulation in the source would not reflect in your dataset without refreshing you table.
