I have to create link in Sharepoint for BI reports where some reports should have access restriction while others can be seen by everyone. I tried using link in share option power bi service which says access with specific people but everyone can see the report when they click on the link in sharepoint.
How can I have a link where it pops up access required when they click on the link in sharepoint. Below is the screenshot for link generation. But doesn't satisfy the need.
You could use the hyperlink in the address bar on the first page of the report as the link for the ones you don't want to use a sharing link for. Just make sure to grant access to specific users in the report permissions - it's in the ellipsis menu in your screenshot.
I tried doing that way it didn't work for me. Still everyone have access to report when they click on the link in sharepoint
The one in the browser address bar? That one will only work for them if they already have access to it via direct access or workspace access. Did you use the ellipsis menu 'manage permissions' option to check to see if they have direct access granted somehow?
