How to export matrix data in same format and not transposed?

On Power BI, When I export matrix data it downloads transposed, not with the original format, so in Excel file, I must transpose it again.

Is there a way on exporting matrix data with the same format and not be transposed?

This issue occurs because Power BI's export behaviour for Matrix visuals varies depending on how you are exporting (e.g., "Underlying data" vs "Summarized data") and whether the matrix contains nested rows/columns, values on rows, or measures. In most export scenarios, Power BI flattens the matrix into a tabular structure for compatibility with Excel often resulting in an unintuitive, transposed-looking layout.

I understand you are facing an issue where exporting a Matrix visual result in the data being transposed in Excel, not matching the visual layout. This happens because Power BI usually flattens matrix data during export. 

To get the export in the same layout as your Matrix, here's what you can do: If you are using Power BI Service, export the data using the "Data with current layout" option this keeps the rows, columns, and layout exactly as displayed.  Note: This only works in Power BI Service not in Power BI Desktop.

Alternatively, try "Analyse in Excel" to get even more layout control directly in Excel via a pivot-style setup.

If you are using Power BI Desktop, the export will always flatten the matrix as a workaround, you could recreate the layout using a Table visual for better export consistency.

Hi @s240105 you can try with Data with Current Layout option 

Steps:

1. Select the matrix visual and click on the "..."
2. Select "Export data"
3. Data with current layout
4. Click "Export"
