How to connect mysql and fetch data using python

Hello, i need your help, i need to connect and fetch data from mysql server. I executed this code in visual studio code and works fine, but in power bi only connect but not fecthed the data.

 

import MySQLdb

myConnection = MySQLdb.connect(host='xx.xxx.xxx.x', user='xxx', passwd='xxx', db='xxx')

try:

cur = myConnection.cursor()

cur.execute("SELECT * from ETL_Python.countries")

rows = cur.fetchall()

desc = cur.description

print(desc[4][0],desc[6][0],desc[7][0],desc[9][0],desc[22][0],desc[23][0])

for row in rows:
print(row[4],row[6],row[7],row[9],row[22],row[23])

finally:

myConnection.close()

I didn't see the point bothering to use python in your senario. Value.NativeQuery() in Power Query is an out-of-the-box function to fetch data with intact sql.


Thanks to the great efforts by MS engineers to simplify syntax of DAX! Most beginners are SUCCESSFULLY MISLED to think that they could easily master DAX; but it turns out that the intricacy of the most frequently used RANKX() is still way beyond their comprehension!

DAX is simple, but NOT EASY!
