Dear PBI community firend and expert,
I have tried to search for the answer but found nothing; therefore, I seek your help.
The issue is simple: I have a bar chart. Normally, when I click on one of the bars, it does the highlighting and filtering (to other charts on the same page). But recently I have a bar chart; when I click on one of the bars, it changes to a data table, which is the data of that bar. I do not want that. How can I get the highlighting and filtering functions of it?
Thanks for your help.
Yours,
Jason

Now suddenly, when I click on my bar, it becomes filtering/highlighting, while I changed nothing. I do not know why it changed. I will share the file when it happens again. Thank you everyone.

When the table is the "destination" it does not support highlighting, only filtering. However, you can restrict this filtering by selecting the Bar Chart > Format > Edit interactions and selecting the Forbid icon in the table:

Hello Ray, Nice to meet you and thanks for replying.
Maybe I confuse you. What I try to restrict is that when I click a bar, the whole page goes to a data table, with a "back to report" at the top left. Normally, it just does the highlighting/filtering you mention, and I can edit the interaction with other visuals.
Do you know why the page will change to a data table? Thank you.
Regards,
Jason
Hi, @JasonXieee
Please try updating to the latest version of Desktop for testing. If the problem has not been solved, can you provide example files? How to provide sample data in the Power BI Forum - Microsoft Fabric Community

Is it possible for you to share through DM your .pbix file? I want to see the exact behavior so I can guide you towards what you need to disable 🙂
