How to automate the daily record from dataset

I would like to keep a snapshot of the daily data record by appending to the existing tables automatically. So column A and B are extracting from a dataset on the server, column C is the data pulling date. In order to analyze the trend of  the daily data from the dataset ( Refreshed automatically on a daily base), I am currently manually grab the data from the dataset and append them to an excel table manually on a daily base. I am wondering if there is a way to automate the process with Power Bi so that, 1) data pulling can be done automatially everyday 2) automatically append the data to a table by assigning the data pulling day so that we can see the trend along the time.

Hi @wittynz 

If you connect to the server directly then it will overwrite the data on daily basis. I believe we dont have automated way to add the snapshot data (Append) for point in time analysis.

There is an idea here. Please vote.
