Hello All,
Complete newbie to powerBI here so I apologies in advance if this question is stupid.
I am doing some productvity tracking of machines from different contractors and want to be able to view the data in powerBI so we can see visually which machine from which contractor was at which project. How many hours total did this project take to complete. Which contractor was more involved in which project and which machine from which contractor was used more often than the other.
Currently, the data is inputted into Excel as a comprehensive sheet with each machine having its dedicated column, and the rows filled with respective hours worked. To address data sensitivity, I've created a sample worksheet mirroring the main setup, with similar fields, but showcasing only 7 machines. However, in our actual dataset, we have over 30 machines, and that's why we've organized the data with each machine having its column, making it more convenient to input data by invoice without breaking it down further by machine.
My current challenge lies in efficiently filtering the data. I'm struggling to set up a filter that allows me to click on a contractor and instantly see a list of all the machines associated with that contractor along with the hours they've worked. Alternatively, it could just display any columns with values, as the columns with blanks are likely not the contractor I'm searching for.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
