How can I Populate Matrix Columns from a slicer?

Simple question, probably not a simple answer.

Say I have Sales by State, and a State Slicer.

I can set up a Bar Graph, select two states, get two bars.  Select four states and I get four bars.

I want to build a matrix.  I have Year and Month as rows, Sales as the value, and I want a column for each selected State.  Select two states, get two Columns.  Select four states and I get four columns.

I can Haz?

If it makes it easier, I will only be using this to present two states at any one time.

Hi @psmith-nhs-inc,

If I understand you correctly, it should be similar to how you set up a Bar Graph as you mentioned above. Just put the State column in the Column field of the Matrix, and also use the State column as Slicer on the report. Then you will get two columns on the Matrix, if you select two states.

And get four columns if you select four states.

You are correct.  A screwed up relationship was preventing the slicer from working properly.  That does work as I need it to.

Thanx
