Hours in Session

On the academmic tracker, you can click on teacher and see how many hours you have taught. It is called "Hours in Session." It says caculates hours from the past seven days. I was told that it is the past seven school days, not weekend. My hours though were way less than it should have been when I caculated the past seven work days. I can see it being a little less if I start one minute late or end a minute early, but not 6- 7 hours different, which is what it is saying.

Could someone explain how they are caculating the teaching time?

Does it matter what kind of class connect sessions we have? The type of classes I have are homeroom, small group, and assesmbly.

Does the seven days count the current day? Currently, it says it is starting from April 8, and my time would be correct if it isn't counting today, but that would only be 6 school days not 7 days.

Information y'all have would be greatly appreicate.

Thank you!

Hi @teach2025 ,

Thank you, @amitchandak , for your response and for sharing those valuable reference links.

  1. The tracker might be using the DATEDIFF logic, which usually doesn’t include both the start and end dates. This could explain why you’re seeing a 6-day range instead of 7 days.
  2. If weekends are not counted, the tracker might be using a business-day calculation like NETWORKDAYS, which only includes working days.
  3. Some session types, such as homeroom, small groups, or assemblies, might not be counted or are handled differently, depending on how the system is set up.

@teach2025 , The datediff will not include both date. So if you want both, you have to add one day.

For Workdays, you can use networkdays
