Highlighting links between Data set

Hi everyone,

I am looking for some help on a simple issue.

I work on 2 data sets, one with a list of process, and another with a list of methods .

Each data set contain the following information :

- Process : name ;  status ; associated methods

- Methods : name ; status ; date ; associated process.

As you seen ,there is a link between the 2 lists : a method type can be associated with a process type.

I use a simple visualisation tool in PowerBI.

I have a table with my process, name, status, etc. And another with my methods, name, status, etc.

Here is what I would like to do :

As I clik on / select one of my process, I would like to display / highlight the associated method in my other table.

How can I do that ?

Thank you for your answer !

Jo

@Anonymous how these tables are related?

WHat is the relationship? One to one, one to many, many to many?

The relationship is many to many.

I've found some elements here : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/developer/visuals/highlight?tabs=Standard#highlight-data-p...

But it looks far more complex than I imagined 😞

since I have no background in coding

Hello @parry2k

Following up on my previous message. Thank you for your answer.

I have created the link between my 2 data sets.

How to visualize the link from now on ?

Best,

Joseph

@Anonymous can you share the relationship diagram? How the relation has been set up between these two tables?

Hi,

Thanks for answering !

What do you mean by the "relationship diagram" ?

The relationship is contained within both tables : for ex. Process table indicates in a column that "Associated Methods" for "Process B" is "Method C" ; and vice versa, Method table indicates that "Associated Process" for "Method C" is "Process B".

Hope I answer your query !
