Hide or show Table visual based on slicer selection

Hi All,

Is there any way to hide the table visual data using the slicer selctions.

Here is my requirement

I have different data sets based on the location. There are around 30 columns and for few location some column data is empty and few other location other columns will be Null. For Exple Location A, Column 10, Column 13, Column 14 will be empty. Location B Column 15, Column 17 will be empty.. this might different for different locations.

Initally i thought to hide the columns base don the slicer selection (Slicer values will be Locations). But we don't have option to hide column in Table visula and i am unable ot choose Matrix visul as i need to show the data in grid format for all 30 rows. If we use Matrix, Values are showing Sum, Multiple, Mean ..ect and we don't have the option to show data without summerising. (please correct me if i am wrong here)

I have tried to hide the table visul based on Creating a measure and adding the values for each location. Applied filters in the Visual and setting transperency, There will multiple visuls based on the measure value i am showing related visual. But here i am having issue with Headers I am unable to hide the header based on the filter visuals.

Can anyone help me to hide the headers based on the filter visual? Thanks in advance for your help.

hi @AUaero ,

Thanks for your help. I am unable to use Matrix as i have 30 columns and i need to show it as a table view instead of expanding and collapsing and without summerising. Is that achievable using Matrx?

I don't think that's a problem - you'll need to turn off the "stepped" row layout, turn off row and column subtotals, and expand your rows.  The only thing missing to make this expanded matrix look like a table is the ability to repeat row labels on each row.  This is trivial in Excel but is unfortunately unsupported in the PBI matrix visual.

Based on your description, you're trying to create a table with dynamic columns?  As an example, if you select Location A in a slicer, your table should include columns 1, 2, 3, and 4, but if you select Location B, the table should include columns 1, 3, and 4 but exclude 2?

I don't believe you can achieve this with a table visual, but it is possible with a matrix.  Take a look at this video for a demonstration.
