Hi can anyone help me explain why in the attached 100% stacked bar chart the values are actually counting to 101%

depends how you built the chart.
If you have categories, perhaps you have some blanks in it so that could make it look weird.
If you measures stack on each other, you can check formatting if they shared the same decimal places etc. Or again perhaps check blanks.

Your observations are quite thorough; however, I feel it’s necessary to explain that the issue you’re encountering is specifically related to the number of decimal places retained in the final results when calculating percentages for visual objects. This often leads to discrepancies due to common rounding errors.
For instance, I created a visual object using sample data at random.
We can manually reduce the error by adjusting the following settings:
