Grouping Icon

Hello,

I have problem with grouping icon in POWER BI desktop. When I create new group, the icon next to the new group is not a group icon. instead it's a table or column icon. I am sure in functioanlity there should be a difference. How I can use the right grouping icon?

Actually I tried with different tables in my data sets, none is capable of creating a group with this icon. shall I check or uncheck a box in the settings?

@Anonymous not sure wht you mean? I asked you to share your powerbi file so that I can take a look and help.

@parry2k

I so the following:

1-I right click on column I want to make group based on it

2- choose NewGroup

3- Chooses list from "list"  or "bin" section

4-define the ranges and give name to each group like under 1000, between 1000 to 2000, above 2000,etc.

5. give a name to this new group

6. click ok to make sure it is error free and then I see it created under the table.

Please le me know why still I get this:

@Anonymous,

I assume the Power BI team changed the icon recently. It still functions as grouping though.

@parry2ksame here but I don't have the icon and the functionality is like a column not being able to creat a hirerarchy under it!

@Anonymous hmmm what is your data source? Can you share pbix if it doesn't contain sensitive info. You can share using onedrive/google drive.
