Google Analytics Query Best Practices

Hello PowerBI Community,

I was wondering if there are other people out there who have created a custom dashboard using the data from Google Analytics via the native connection in PowerBI. I am trying to see if anyone else has any tips or tricks for pulling their queries from Google Analytics and how to properly connect the queries in the query editor in PowerBI.

I have found that to create the visualizations I need, I am pulling many different queries with some of the same fields and they do not really have any connection to each other for drill down purposes. It feels like for each visualization I want to create I have to pull down a new query with just a changed dimension and a lot of the same measures. And when I realize that I needed another field in the query, I have to completely re-pull the query from the connection. I've looked around quite a bit on the internet and there aren't many resources that explain much after you make the connection to Google Analytics and how to organize your queries. Especially since there are so many differnet dimensions and measures that you can pull from GA.

I have also been having the same issues. As PBI can't handle duration, and really struggles with GA4, I've come to the conclusion that Power BI is a bad tool for digital analytics. Pretty much any other tool handles GA data better than PBI.

@Anonymous I'm working on a blog post on it will share it but for now, here is something I'm planning to do using GA connector and pulled the relevant information used in this video.
