Hi @benjamin_sasin ,
Yes, I can reproduce your issue using IF function to create custom column. If you need to see and edit the codes, just click the step "Add custom" , then go to View-> Formula Bar.

Hi,
This is not what I mean.
I clearly added a custom column by typing code in the code input area of the standard new colum prompt. However, because I typed an IF...THEN clause, when I click on the same step to edit, it show a conditional column prompt.
This is something new to PowerBI. I just want to edit the code and not fiddle around with drop downs and what not.

@benjamin_sasin , if you click of a custom column name in the table , the formula bar should show it calculation in edit query mode?
Yes it shows the forumula bar. However the formula bar format is not the same as the pop up format as well as the popup offers predictive text where the formula bar doesn't.
Hi @benjamin_sasin ,
Generally , when you click "Custom Column" button, pop-up page is like picture one, and when you click "Conditional Column" button, pop-up page is like picture two.
Then it will appear the steps like names below. While the "Conditional Column" pop-up page appears in step "Added Custom1" in your scenario, you may check if you have renamed the step name "Added Conditional Custom" with "Added Custom1" in APPLIED STEPS pane. or you may create a custom column again.
