Filtering matrix table on string DAX result

Hello,

In a matrix table, I've a DAX measures displaying string value (as a result of a calculation).

Is there a simple native way to give users possibility to filter theses string values ?

Thanks for your help !

Hi, @Bebs

There is no direct native way to filter the results of DAX measures in a matrix table because measures are computed at query time and do not exist as columns in the data model. However, an alternative method can be used.

Consider using a slicer, where you can create a slicer that connects to the same data used by the DAX measure. While you can't place slicers directly for a measure, you can create a slicer based on the underlying column for measure calculations. In this way, the user can indirectly filter the matrix table based on string values.

If you can replicate or simplify the logic for calculating a column's DAX measure, consider creating a calculating column that represents the string value to be filtered on. Users can then use this calculated column in the slicer or directly in the matrix to filter the data.
