I am very new to PowerBi, so please bear with me!
My organization has a premium GA account, but not sure if this makes any difference. But, basically, I am having trouble pulling data from GA based on date parameters.
For example, let's say I want a chart that looks at page views last 30 days by date. The only way I am able to do this is, is if I pull the date dimnesion out of GA (so I have many more rows than 30) along with the page views, and then after the fact filter on date. But is there any way to filter on date BEFORE I pull the data?
Perhaps I need to change something in the Syntax? Or maybe the GA connector is not the best way to do this?

When we connect to Google Analytics, we need a Google Analytics account as data source credetial. The account is required. Please refer to this article: Third-party service: Google Analytics connector for Power BI Desktop .
In your scenairo, you can filter data in Query Editor before you load the data. Please refer to screenshots below:
