Filter Duplicating Values - Copy field

Here's a strange one.

I have a column that I can add to the filter panel and it produces duplicates instead of distinct values.

If I copy the field and add it into the filter panel it doesnt show duplicates.

I cant find any other solution to this or understand why it is happening, any thoughts.

Many thanks

Hi @CEllis ,
As Kaviraj11  said, you can go to power query and set the format of the columns. According to my testing when your data is formatted as text with spaces in front of the data, even though it shows up all the same on your table visualization, it still categorizes them on the filter's presentation.

When you copy and re-paste, power query will convert it to the most compatible format.

You can also make changes to the column type to whole number in the table interface

Hi,

Can you try to trim the column in power query? There might be a hidden characters. Make sure to format it to whole number as well.  Let me know your result.

Hi @Kaviraj11 ,

I've checked and there are no spaces and applied the type.

The only soloution I can work out is copying it.

The data comes from a dataflow that pulls on multiple csv file, if I copy the field in the dataflow then delete the original and give it the same name it pulls through ok.

I agree it shoud be something around trimming any spaces of either end.

Thanks for the advise much appreciated.

Chris
