Hi,
I'm having trouble filtering a calculated column from SSAS in Power BI, considering the following image:
I want to calculate the sum of the Task[planed_Delivery] for each Indicator and multiply it by the weight in a Calculated Column (Indicator[planned_Deliveries]) to do further calculations with that column.
planned_Deliveries = SUM(Task[planed_Delivery])
The problem is that i want to filter this calculated column by Task[date] in the Dashboard, but it doesn't filter by date in the Dashboard, when i apply the filter it gives me the total result, as the filter has not been applied.
Can calculated columns from SSAS be filtered in Power BI? If it's possible what i'm i doing wrong?
Hi @Anonymous ,
Can you filter the report successfully in report view in service? if it works well, you can pin the whole report page to dashboard to make sure the filter working well. note that you can't pin the visual one by one.
Best regards,

Hi @Anonymous ,
Sorry i am not quitely get you, the problem is that you can't use the filter in dashboard, right? but before you pin it on the dashboard, there must be a report in your workspace. if the filter can work well in the report, once you pinned the whole page to dashboard, the filter works well, too.
Figuring that you have modeled the report in desktop, and next you'll publish it to service. please follow the advice and try again.
Hi @v-diye-msft ,
Sorry i did not explain well, i don't use service, i use the on-premisses solution with SSAS and PBIRS, and i can't filter the calculated column in the report in Power BI even before publishing it to PBIRS.
I think the problem is that custom columns created in SSAS can't be filtered in Power BI, by other tables dimensions.
Thanks
Hi @Anonymous ,
Would you mind sharing me your dummy pbix? upload it to Onedrive/Sharepoint/Dropbox, and generate the share link. Make sure you've removed the confidential info before.
Best regards,
Dina Ye
