Field parameter filtering

Hi,

I just recently discovered field parameter feature in Power BI and found it quite useful, but I'm a bit stuck with filtering options even if it possile at all to filter one of the dimensions without affecting other dimensions.

E.g. field parameter is a columns from a single table and for one of the dimesions I want to show only top 10 based on a value column. When I apply filter filter for 1 dimension it automatically filters data in other dimensions.

Here is the example pbix.

@amitchandak Thanks, I didn't know that Field parameter is not accepting SELECTEDVALUE function, it was one of my possible approaches. So far I came up this:
Parameter selector:

Selected Param = MAXX(
    FILTER(
        Parameter,
        Parameter[Parameter Order] =
        SELECTEDVALUE(
            Parameter[Parameter Order]
        )
    ),
    Parameter[Parameter]
)
And than I tried to plot on this measure insted of regular total:
TTL BKG = IF(
    [Selected Param] = "Corporate Name",
    CALCULATE(
        SUM(Sheet1[Sum of Bkg CW CY]),
        TOPN(
            10,
            Sheet1,
            SUM(Sheet1[Sum of Bkg CW CY]),
            DESC
        )
    ),
    SUM(Sheet1[Sum of Bkg CW CY])
)
But no luck so far, it still plots all of possible names.
Thanks anyway!

Hi, @AndHld

May I ask if you have gotten this issue resolved? If it is solved, please share your solution and accept it as solution, it will be helpful for other members of the community who have similar problems as yours to solve it faster.

If it is not resolved, please provide some sample data in your tables (exclude sensitive data) with Text format and your expected result with backend logic and special examples. It is better if you can share a simplified pbix file. We will do our best to provide ideas for your issue.

I hope my suggestions give you good ideas, if you have any more questions, please clarify in a follow-up reply.
Best Regards,

This is actually strange, the link is to dropbox with .pbix and I removed all sensitive information there (or replaced with fake values). I followed the guide from your links.

@AndHld , Refer if this can help

Switch TOPN with Field Parameters: https://amitchandak.medium.com/switch-topn-with-field-parameters-299a0ae3725f

In place of different measure you can use var to have less measures
