Exporting data using Power Automate button ( saving data directly on local like normal data export )

Hi There,

I have a requirement where I need to create a button to export data in Power BI. Usually I can achieve it using Power Automate, but exported data is saved on any Sharepoint or on One Drive account where a template was already created.

In my case as report would be enbedded on a portal (Customer facing) , I want data to be saved directly in local machine as It works in case of using export data option in Power BI Table visual.

Any help would be appriciated.

Thank you for looking into it.

I am looking for the same solution. Whilst it is possible, at the click of a button using Power Automate, to export and save the result on SharePoint or OneDrive (as examples), how is it possible to export the result of a table and have the option to save it whereever you like - in other words, without a predefined location.

I appreciate that it is quite easy to simply click on the elipsis (...) of the table or visual and click export but for some people this isn't that apparent (or is less apparent that having a big button that says 'Export to csv/excel).

Is this a Power BI Embedded environment?

Hi @lbendlin ,

Yes, the report which I'm developing where I want this export button will be embedded on a customer-facing portal.
And that’s the reason I cannot go for saving the file either on sharePoint or on One drive, I want when the user will click on it data should be directly saved anywhere but on the user's local machine like does usually in Power BI Table visual.

If you have any other suggestions or workaround to achieve the same, please do let me know.
Thank you for looking into it.

Have you achieved this through embeded code? Plz share the steps
