I have two visuals. these are for Lead Time for manufacturing components.
The top right chart shows the average lead time for the final operation only broken up into 12 1-year rolling averages. This is done through a TOP N (1) filter on operation number. These rolling averages are from a column called APSort. It essentially tells us how long it took for us to make the part start-to-finish for each 12 month period.
My bottom chart shows the lead times for each operation. This has a Top N filter on APSort so it only shows the detail for the latest 12-month period. The idea is that we can pick a 12-month period from the top chart, and the bottom will give insights about which operations added the most time to the overall lead time.
When I select a point on the top chart, It will switch which 12-month period the bottom chart shows which is desired. My problem is that it also applies the "last operation" filter from the top chart and does not show that lead time broken down by operation.
I need a way for the top chart to filter the bottom on APSort but to NOT apply the LastOperation filter.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Found the solution, I need to have a slicer on APSort. This will filter down both visuals without their individual filters affecting eachother. I still cannot pick a point on the top chart like I wanted but it is better than nothing.
I have further refined the solution. I will now instead generate two data sets. One will have header level data showing the final operation only and the other will have item level data showing each operation. I will join the two in Power BI to link visuals.
