I have 3 tables, one is called DownTimeValue, Equipment and IndicatorValue.
The DownTimeValue relates to the Equipment through the EquipmentID column, the same is with the IndicatorValue.
When I create a simple table in PowerBI showing the decription information that exists in these 3 tables the information is displayed, but when I add a date field whether it is from the IndicatorValue or DownTimeValue table, PowerBI presents an error stating that the information is not related to suggesting creating a New relationship where the tables are related.
I checked and it is not possible to relate the IndicatorValue with the DownTimeValue directly even though both have the same EquipmentID column, the values in that column are repeating in the two tables.
And I tried to create a chart with the information of those 3 tables without using the date in that chart and the data is displayed because the user needs to filter a date and when he tries to filter a date the filter has no effect on the chart.
I do not understand the reason for the error, what can I do?
Note: This error occurs in other applications with different tables.
@Anonymous,
Please set the Cross Filter Direction from “Single” to “Both” in the existing relationships (DowntimeValue table and Equipment table, Equipment table and IndicatorValue table), then check if you get errors when create table using data field.
Regards,
Lydia
