Dynamic formatting field parameter (abs/%)

Dear network,

I have 3 field parameters with the same measures inside them.

I.e: Main scenario with A23, A22, A32, B24, etc and Comparsion scenario 1 & 2 with the same measures inside. Goal of this is to have a dynamic dahsboard which fits the user needs.

We also have a switch measure whith Value and % which is then taken by the field parameter (selectedvalue). The issue comes when I need to format the field parameter depending on the selection of the user to absolute value or %. The formatting of the field parameter is very restricted and I'm not able to do it.

I have also tried using calc groups, but then it is overwritting field parameter choice.

Does anyone have any advice?

I am also struggling to give an appropriate order based on Main scenario, as the order can be only selected by measure (and all measures are shared across all field parameter)..

If someone could also help in here that would be great.

Thank you!

Clara

Hi @ClaraBcn ,

Please try to use Dynamic format strings for measures. With dynamic format strings for measures, you can determine how measures appear in visuals by conditionally applying a format string with a separate DAX expression.

When using dynamic format strings, the measure keeps its data type and isn't forced to change to a string data type. This applies different format strings to the measure depending on the context.
