Hey,
This seems like it should be a simple thing, but I cant see any way of doing it.
I have a few places in one of my data models where I need dynamic text columns. So there will be an unlinked table, where the users will make a selection, and on the back of that, i would like the values in a text column to change.
One example would be a filter that makes data anonymous, so they click 'Anonymous' and the names are converted to xxxx. I can't do this in a measure as then I cant use this in the rows of a matrix, legend of a chart etc.
Is there a way to do this?

Hi @Anonymous,
It is not supported, a calculate column can not get dynamic values.
Maybe you can vote here.

Thank you. I have voted. Hopefully this gets implemented some time soon, as I have a ton of different applications for it, and I feel like its a big functionality gap
@Anonymous
You can try using the function SELECTEDVALUE in a measure
So if you have a slicer with Countries you can write something like this:
Measure = IF (SELECTEDVALUE(Table[Country])= 'ABCD', 'XXXX', Table[FieldValue])
The problem with using a measure is I cannot use the measure in the rows of a matrix, legend of a chart etc
