Dynamic Chart Help

Hi guys,

Currently, I'm building some political charts and I'm trying to recreate some of the most interesting ones, like the following:

Captura de ecrã 2023-02-11, às 11.26.57.png

Can someone tell me if this is created with SandDance or any other custom visual?

Thank you very much for your help.

BR,

Hey @Anonymous, progress is going a bit slower than I hoped. Check out this gist for chart 1 before I bring it into power bi and let me know if you'd like any updates.

Do you frequently use Deneb to provide insights to your stakeholders? Have you considered sponsoring this free and open source custom visual? More info here!

Hey again @Anonymous. Just like you did here, if you could provide a bit more background on how the data is split up (e.g. color encodings) and provide a .pbix. I'd be happy to give these a go. The first chart shouldn't be bad at all once I have a better understanding of the dataset.

Hi @giammariam,

Thank you once again for your effort and dedication.

This was definitely an alternative to the initial Deneb visualization. SandDance seems like a pretty decent visual to explore as well.

There are already two additional tabs in this same .pbix to give it a try: https://github.com/WabiSabi29/Tests

1. Split two bars with left-wing (red) and right-wing (blue) parties based on the number of "mandates"

PS; B.E; PCP/PEV; PAN; LIVRE; - Left-wing (red)

PPD/PSD; CDS-PP; CH; IL; - Right-Wing (Blue)

2. I'm trying to fill the districts with the number of seats. Like this:

Portuguese map uploaded here: https://github.com/WabiSabi29/Tests

Check this as well: https://poll.forumresearch.com/powerbi/

Thanks in advance.

That's exactly what I need @giammariam, two different towers showing the difference between right-wing and left-wing when it comes to the number of mandates/parliament seats.

I'm finishing a political dashboard and I will show you afterwards in order to obtain critical value.

Thank you!!

@Anonymous, Looking forward to seeing your finished dashboard. I'll update the .pbix that has the first seat chart visual and link it here.

Do you still need the other chart shown above? The one where the map is overlayed by a chart per district? That one could take a bit more brain power and I wasn't sure what your timeline was looking like. If the map is less important, I could always do a version of the first chart also broken out by district without the map. Let me know.

EDIT:

I've updated the .pbix and wired up cross-highlighting.
