Documenting data models

Hi,

I have a need to document the data models that I have used in my Power BI reports. This means that i basically need to export the relationship model view from Power Bi to Visio for example. Is there an automated way of exporting the Power Bi relationship model to excel and import that to Visio or something like that?

Basically i need to get a good solution to answer the question: What data tables did you use and how are they connected to each other?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Can't you get by with the model layouts Desktop offers?

For example, this is a whole model (messy, I know)Model.JPG

But you can create layouts by sections of your model to focus on each fact table and which dimension tables are related:

Single page WHO.JPG

And add the view with the relationships between tables:

Relationships.JPG

Just a suggestion.

PS: You could even create an interactive Power Point enabling nagivation from the main model view to specific sections and back. Sorry, I'm getting carried away...

hi @CarlsBerg999 - I do not think there is a direct way to export the relationship view from Power BI; you can refer to the below link on the same topic
