Hello folks,
When the user not able to view the shared report based on direct query source and got the below-attached error. do need users to access to the data warehouse to view the report in power bi service?
Please help out to me on this issue.
Regards
SBM
Solved! Go to Solution.
Well, the report is live (Direct Query), which means that it is dynamically querying the source every time the page displays. To operate the way it sounds like you want it to work, you would need to use Import mode instead of Direct Query.
Hi @sbm ,
I suggest you to ask for help here by creating a support ticket.

I tried but did not find a solution.
Maybe start with making sure they have access to use the data source in the gateway?
Hello @Greg_Deckler ,
Thank you so much for your response.
Now the question is why the users need access to use the data source to only view the published report? if there are 1000 users have to view the shared report, are they all need access to the data source?
what can be possible reasons that some of the users can view the same report and some of the users are not able to view?
I have used SQL Server using authentication type (Azure Active Directory - Universal with MFA) as a data source with direct query mode.
I will appreciate if you please help me to understand.
