Assigning role to Power Bi Service (works on desktop)

I am trying to create a role that looks at the email of the current user, compares it to the email in a stored table, then filters on the site assigned to that user (in the table) accordingly. It works fine on the desktop. However when I load this dataset to the Power BI service (cloud) how do I get this same role to apply.  I added the email addresses to the Row Level Security area. Thanks for any help! What I did on the Desktop below.

HI @Anonymous,

You can enter to dataset tab -> right click on dataset -> security option.
Then you can assign role at row level security menu.(choose one role, then add user email to current role)

Notice: RLS not works for dataset owner and admin who has edit permission.

I realize Sheng's comment is very likely correct, but how am I supposed to test if I can't apply Row Level Security to myself?  Also, I would like to assign the same role to ALL USERS.  How do I do that?

Basically, I'm trying to make sure the current user only sees her/his own data.  Admins should be able to bypass (or remove) the row level security if needed, but the default should be that the current user never sees anyone else's data.  It seems like I'm trying to do the same thing the original poster was.  In my case, however, it's not currently a security risk if users can see each other's data.    Instead, if John Doe sees James Doe's data in my current scenario, it's just going to look unprofessional.
