Hello,
Previously in the Power BI Designer Preview, we were able to display "items with no data", but this feature appears to be missing in the GA release...any idea why that would be?
For instance, I have a query that pulls a list of projects that is linked to another query that pulls down weekly form submissions for those projects with a slicer for week number (column in the second query) to see what submissions have come in that week. If there was a submission, this would be displayed visually, and if there was no submission, there would be a zero indicator for that week.
Now, this does not work - the slicer only shows items that have data associated with it...so there's no way to display what "hasn't" been submitted. Any idea how to correct that? I've tweaked all the filters, but nothing seems to work at all.
Same here
Has this been resolved yet?
If you add 0 to your measure, you will get the behavior you want. Slicers simply filter out those values for which all relevant measures evaluate to blank. Adding 0 makes it not blank.
Hi Will,
I'm looking for this option in the "Clustered Column Chart" visualization in the Desktop, but can't find it. I have dates on the X axis and drilled down to Quarter. So I see Q1, Q2, Q3 but no Q4 since there is no data for Q4. I want it to show the empty Q4 and it sounds like this is what you're saying the option is for. Where is it or did I misunderstand?
EDIT: found this today. In case anyone else has trouble, suppose you have a date in the Axis box for a visualization. There's a down arrow next to the X mark that would delete the field, when you click the down arrow you get a menu:
Remove field
Show items with no data
Date
Date Hierarchy
Selecting that "show items..." one does the job. If you had a visualization showing quarterly results, but Q1 had no entries, this will put an empty column with the labe "Q1" under it so it is clear that Q1 is zero or empty.
thanks,
Jesse
