Hi Everyone, the new ArcGIS Maps look great but for those of us with sensitive data inside the EU the phrase "Esri may store and process your data in the United States or any other country in which Esri maintains facilities" in the terms you need to agree to show that it would be illegal for us to touch it. I will assume many others are also in this situation (e.g. anyone in the EU who needs to report on personal data).
Obviously it's only a preview at present but when it goes live how do we block it from the software? We're in the process of getting approval to install the software for around 10,000 employees and simply sending a message round saying "don't touch this button" won't be sufficient. Organisations in our field can and do face fines in the £100,000+ region for breaches like the ones this visualisation can enable.
Thanks,
Barney

That's a good question. In this instance, my first thought would be to block esri.com and arcgis.com through the corporate firewall, that should stop data being loaded to them.
<Edit> - Now I've looked, and in Options/Security there is an option to turn off access to ArcGis Maps, which should do the trick.
<2nd Edit> You'll only see the option in Security if you have already turned ArcGIS maps ON !
However the bigger question still exists, with the advent of more and more visualisations it may be necessary to limit what the user sees.
