Hi,
I'm trying to connect to SQL Server Analysis using Direct Query. From what I've read online it seems like it's not possible.
But I think it's possible since I'm using a report that does it :
connection settings :
My question is how can I do this please ?
Thanks
Solved! Go to Solution.
That's because I changed it explicitly following the process mentioned here
Initially it always shows live and import mode only, you will have to change it using" Make changes to this model" in your desktop.
Please try and see if it works for you.
Hello @Broly ,
When you to attempt to connect to a Azure Analysis Services Database, you get an option to chose Direct Query as shown below:
Did you try that?
when I try to I don't have the option:
I only have the live connection option :
It is a recent addition and is in preview, can you see if it has been checked
File --> Options & Settings --> Preview Features as below:
Reference- Using DirectQuery for datasets and Analysis Services (preview) - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
It is already activated :
Shouldn't we be able to choose between live connection or direct query ? why in your screenshot you don't have live connection and in mine direct query ?
