DirectQuery Power BI

I have got a table into Power BI using Direct Query.

I have a column called DateTimeCompleted in this table. Since it is a Direct Query, it would not let me create a "Month Year" column. For this purpose, I have created a new Date Table with the Month Year.

I am trying to create a relationship between these 2 tables as follows:

DirectQuery_1 .jpg

But as shown above, the field values do not pop up for the table. I am not able to create a realtionship between these 2 tables because of this.

The Date table looks as follows:

DirectQuery_2.png

Month Year is a column created using the following DAX :  Month Year = FORMAT(Date[Date], "MMM-YYYY")

Not sure why I am not able to create the connection link. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

Hey, not sure what happened. But I just tried creating the relatioship again (Looked the same as in screenshot shown, no values were populated), but it worked this time.

Thank you!

Please check Data type for "Datetime complete", both should be date, then link them together.

Step 1: Are you able to see data in Data tab for that column? if not check your direct query.

Step 2: Drag both date columns on to sheet and let me know if they are displaying same data or not

hey, the data tab says " This table uses DirectQuery and cannot be shown".

Any particular reason? Sorry, I am new to the directquery concept!

Step 1 :I hope that you are using latest power bi

Step 2: Click on Data STorage on right bottom in view tab and change it to "Mixed " mode now tell me if you are able to see data?
