Direct Queries against legacy SQL Servers

Hello,

 

I am trying to perform a direct query against a database in SQL Server 8.00.760.  Is this supported by Power BI?  I ask because I am getting the error Couldn't load the model schema whenever I try to apply a load to the data.  Any help is greatly appreciated!
